I assume that not that many tourist are familiar with the town of Banpong. Banpong lies between Bangkok and Kanchanaburi and most of the tourist that visit Kanchanaburi will have passed Banpong on the way to the famous bridge over the river Khwae. In the vicinity of Bangpong you can find some interesting places such as Wat Khanon Nang Yai Museum, NaSatta Park or Mini Aquarium Banpong. In recent years a number nice restaurants have appeared in Banpong. The Glasses is one of them.
The Glasses is located along the Mae Klong river in Banpong town. There is a clear sign guiding you to the restaurant but from the street it can be easily missed. Between two main buildings it is a bit of a steep drop down to the parking.
The restaurant has a nice deck on the river side. It is covered so even with a bit of rain you can dine there. The restaurant is mostly build up of glass. When the sun shines they can close the covers to protect the inside from too much sun.
We had dinner here at the end of the afternoon. The food was delicious and nicely presented. I especially like the Hom Mok Pla. It not only looked amazing but more importantly it also tasted great.
